Call for Abstracts & Workshop Proposals is now open!
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for agreeing to be on our International Advisory Panel. We have been working closely with Prof Norman Sartorius and Prof Sir Graham Thornicroft to develop the conference programme and are pleased to share some updates with you.
The 9th International Together Against Stigma Conference will be held from 3 – 5 October 2019, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, with the President of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob, as the guest of honour.
We have confirmed the theme for the conference as: Beyond the Label – Towards an Inclusive Society. There will be 5 conference tracks, with the following focus:
* Social inclusion in the workplace and community
* The power of the media and social movements
* Professionals, policy and practice
* Recovery and people with lived experience
* Skills-based workshops
The Call for abstracts and workshop proposals for the conference is now open! We know that many of you have strong local and worldwide connections with representatives from various fields who might be interested to present at the TAS conference and we seek your help to publicise the call for abstracts to them.
May we also request that you help us spread the word about the conference via your website, social media platforms, upcoming related events, and other ways you deem appropriate. Registration for the conference will open in April. If you require electronic banners and posters to be of a specific size, our team would be glad to provide.
We are also pleased to inform you that Singapore launched its first national anti-stigma campaign – Beyond the Label – in September last year. We are excited to share about the campaign, showcase some of the anti-stigma work led by various social service organisations as well as to learn from other global partners at the upcoming TAS conference.
We are happy to extend a complimentary conference pass to all IAP members, so please plan to come to Singapore! We will be following up with an official invitation at a later date, with all the details.
Please do not hesitate to contact our TAS Secretariat (Ms Jacynth Chiang) at
Thank you for your support and stay in touch!
